CKS Foundation functions in 2 main regions of Delhi (since 2010) & Uttarakhand (since 2013). Its Education Centers are the headquarters for knowledge services as well as other projects related to conservation, healthcare & relief work.
Our Education Center for school-based, arts & performance and holistic learning is situated in MMTC Colony and caters to students in & around the Adchini, Begumpur & surrounding areas of New Delhi.
Our Education Center is situated in Village Chandranagar and caters to 16 villages & hamlets across Rudraprayag District, Uttarakhand.
CKS Foundation’s Computer Center serves as the sole institute of its kind in the remote hamlet of Chandrangar and surrounding 16 villages in Rudraprayag, UK. Trained teachers offer training to all age-groups, besides providing essential digital services like filling application forms for entrance exams etc. At present we have 15 computers.
On 1st September, 2021 CKS Foundation proudly inaugurated its 3rd education center located in Pokhari, Uttarakhand which is being sponsored under its CSR policy by Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC). Through it we hope to serve the people of Pokhari and its surrounding villages. The center will continue fulfilling the goals of our foundation by providing quality education to all. Under the able leadership of Shri. Pankaj Bisht, Project Director, Uttarakhand, the center is running a library and computer lab as well.
CKS Foundation links its curriculum to the school calendar, providing learning solutions for students to succeed in government-run classrooms, competitive and entrance exams. Project Vidyarthi also focuses on out-of-the-box thinking approaches to textbook concepts by using tools like art, films, theatre, digital, experiential and experiment-based tools. Visiting faculty, interactive sessions with thought-leaders and playful engagement via quizzes, puzzles and storytelling.
All CKS Foundation students receive individualised attention and support continues well after they pass Class 12, enter college or get their first jobs.
Arts, crafts and performance are a key component of our curriculum and have a clear clink to student retention at our centers. Over the years, CKS Foundation has conducted workshops with theatre, dance and art workshops professionals for students of all age-groups. Some of these workshops have also helped our students develop craft skills and exhibit their work at annual festivals and fairs.
In 2021 CKS Foundation has taken on full-time teachers who use theatre in the classroom to enhance learning in social studies for junior classes and history, civics and political science for senior classes.
Nutrition is an essential component of our free-of-cost education services. Daily, home-cooked and nutritious meals are provided to students at lunchtime. This program has shown a marked improvement in our students well-being and also helped them stay enrolled in our centers.
Students who pass through CKS Foundation can have a life-long association with the Foundation, its teachers and founders as well as with their batchmates through the Alumni Association. Staying connected in this way allows former students to update us about their achievements in further education & employment as well as approach the Foundation for any assistance, guidance or mentorship. The CKSF Alumni Association comprises of Delhi & Uttarakhand-Chandranagar chapters.
Conservation is at the heart of CKS Foundation’s threefold cause, whose work in Uttarakhand began on the heels of the 2013 flood-disaster. Operating in this environmentally-fragile Himalayan region comes with responsibility towards its protection. All CKSF students & staff are motivated to take an active role through cleanliness drives & sustainability programs.
In the urban, concrete jungles of Delhi, air pollution and dwindling green-cover is a real & present threat to our future generations. CKS Foundation Delhi’s students take on annual tree-planting and green missions coinciding with World Environment Day. In the classroom, teachers moderate discussion & debate around themes of sustainability, raising our students’ consciousness about climate change.
Project Swasthya is a healthcare project focussed on low-income communities with poor access to medical resources, especially for women & children. CKS Foundation provides financial assistance and helps secure medicines, diagnostic tests and treatment at top hospitals like Safdarjang, Madan Mohan Malviya & Ram Manohar Lohia Hospitals.
In 2020, we did a broad-based mask distribution & Covid19 awareness drive in the Chandranagar area.
CKS Foundation is dedicated to the welfare & development each of our communities connected through our Education Centres. In times of crisis, such as the 2013 floods in Uttarakhand, the devastating fire of 2017 in Balmiki Basti of Begumpur or the Covid19 lockdown in 2020, CKS Foundation has provided financial aid and relief materials to those affected.
