Chandra Kumar Sharma, Founder – President, IAS (retd.)

Chandra Kumar Sharma started his career as a history lecturer in Delhi University. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1971. During his thirty- seven years of service he has had extensive experience of working with the community in various sectors.

He has been involved in policy formulation and implementation of projects for afforestation, rural development, education, health and disaster relief operations. In different capacities he has been instrumental in formulating and implementing environmental protection schemes and medical benefit schemes for industrial workers. He has also worked in the Ministry of Education, Government of India and participated in the UNESCO Conference in Belgrade. Besides being the President of the Foundation he also teaches the students.

Poonam Sharma, Founder- Managing Trustee,  Advocate

Poonam Sharma has been associated with education, both in India and in the United States of America. She has organized and implemented various educational programs at the community level. From being a Girl Scout Leader in New York to working with children of leprosy patients in New Delhi, she has a wide range of experience in working with children and addressing their social, emotional, educational, health and nutritional needs.

Priyadarshni Sharma

Priya Sharma is a writer and filmmaker. She actively engages with issues of gender and social equality. As a single parent she is deeply interested in children – what makes them tick, what they need and how each child can be given a chance to lead a fulfilling life. At CKSF she aims to bring a little fun into the day of every child there, through theatre, dance, creative writing, film screenings and play.

Ural Sharma, Executive Director

Ural Sharma

Ural Sharma is an educationist who has worked extensively in the field of teaching first-generation learners. Having graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, she holds a Masters degree in English Literature and is an American TESOL certified English Language Trainer. As the Executive Director of the Foundation, she is spearheading the programme implementation at both the Centers of the Foundation. She also conducts trainings for the teaching staff and supervises them. In a quest to ensure that the children derive joy out of learning she makes a departure from the chalk and talk method and employs innovative teaching methods and technological aids to develop English language skills among all the students.
